In Wolverhampton we strongly believe that ‘good’ commissioning cannot be achieved by working in isolation; it requires close collaboration with all stakeholders if it is to improve service quality, enable residents to manage and direct their own health and wellbeing. Good commissioning should facilitate integrated service delivery and make the most effective use of the available resources in communities. We recognise that there is a need to move from organisationally driven commissioned service provision to services that work with people to achieve outcomes that are important to them.
The journey we are on will continue and we are pleased to share this report with the KingsFund and IMPOWER which shines a light on what is important to our care home residents the vital role that commissioning can play, working alongside our care home providers.
