Heroes of 2024: Rowan Hedley, Dorset Parent Carers Council (DPCC)

Our nomination is Rowan Hedley for their passion for supporting children and young people across Dorset. Not only is Rowan the co-founder of Bridge the Gap Facilitators, which they established to support and empower disabled and financially disenfranchised members of society, they are taking an increasingly leading role in the Dorset Parent Carers Council (DPCC), helping give a voice to parents, carers and young people across the county. Rowan has been an advocate, and sounding board, for IMPOWER’s work in high needs in Dorset, and continues to provide insight into how our work to build inclusion across education partners can be enhanced to maximise its impact for children and young people.
