IMPOWER’s Heroes of 2023: 14 December

by | Dec 14, 2023 | Being IMPOWER, Education and inclusion

Find out who I’ve nominated as my hero this year…

Nominated by Alastair Thompson (Director) and Alex Brookes (Delivery Director) at IMPOWER

As Derby City Council’s former Director of Learning, Skills and Education (and now independent consultant) Pauline Melvin-Anderson plays a crucial role in putting children, young people and families at the centre of everything she does.

Pauline’s relentless motivation and energy to drive improvements in outcomes for children and young people inspired all of our team who had the pleasure of working with her on Derby City Council’s SEND system transformation programme. Pauline’s skill at bringing others on the journey, whether they be colleagues, schools or families is second to none.

Most recently, Pauline has made the jump to independent consulting and has translated all of this into helping some of our IMPOWER teams in the conversations and work we carry out with our clients. Goodness only knows where Pauline finds the time given all of her high profile national charitable roles! Her passion in the area is truly inspirational to all of us.
