This year, I’m nominating Surrey’s South-West Asylum Care Leavers’ team as my heroes of 2022. This team does amazing work supporting unaccompanied asylum seekers, and has demonstrated some innovative ways of working with care leavers to overcome language barriers and support them to live successful and fulfilling lives in the UK. Their hard work was acknowledged at last week’s ‘Stars in Surrey’ Awards, where the team won the Innovative Working award. Huge congratulations to the team!
