Heroes of 2024: Jivan Sembi, Walsall Council

We are proud to nominate Jivan Sembi for IMPOWER’s Heroes of 2024 Awards. Jivan is a Head of Service in Walsall Council, where she has shown tremendous leadership and dedication to improving outcomes for children and young people in Walsall. Jivan has shown that she genuinely cares about Walsall Children and their wellbeing, working across the Council and with partners and providers to secure the best outcomes and futures. Jivan has been instrumental in the change that has happened in Children’s Services over the past year. She has been willing to do things differently, taking others along with her resulting in ambitious plans for children and young people. Jivan has used IMPOWER’s Valuing Care tool, which she really understands and has used it to find opportunities for better outcomes. Jivan has been innovative in her role and has used her strong leadership skills to create real sustainable change.
